Order Confirmation & Deposit
- To confirm your order with Yorkshire Roof Windows, we require written acceptance—via email or post—agreeing to the quoted works, price, and terms.
- No order will be scheduled until the agreed deposit has been received.
- Please note: All quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue.
Additional Quotation Terms
- All prices are inclusive and valid for 7 days unless otherwise agreed.
- Quotes are based on a non-invasive visual inspection. If unexpected issues are uncovered during installation, the quotation may be subject to change.
- Any additional costs will be clearly communicated and approved before work proceeds.
- For repair jobs, we offer professional advice, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed. We recommend obtaining multiple quotes where appropriate.
- Customers are responsible for securing any necessary consents, permissions, or licences (e.g. from landlords or planning authorities), unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- By accepting our quotation, you agree to the payment terms provided, unless other arrangements have been made.
- Scaffolding will not be removed until the final payment has been received.
- Payments not made within 24 hours of completion may incur a 10% surcharge.
- All goods remain the property of Yorkshire Roof Windows until full payment is received.
- You are responsible for ensuring the site is ready and accessible on the scheduled date. If not, a portion of the quote may still be chargeable.
- Work durations are estimates and may vary due to factors such as weather. Labour costs remain fixed regardless of early or delayed completion.
- Some work is weather-dependent. In such cases, we may need to reschedule at short notice, though we aim to complete within the same week where possible.
- While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee against water ingress if areas are temporarily exposed during work.
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing with at least 7 days’ notice. Shorter notice may result in a cancellation fee.
- Minor interior plaster cracks may occasionally occur due to vibrations from work. These are cosmetic and not structurally concerning; we cannot accept liability for them.
- If parking restrictions apply, you must provide permits. Otherwise, parking fees will be added to your final invoice.
Decoration and Interior Finishes
- We cannot guarantee a perfect fit between your existing plasterwork and new window frames; additional internal finishing may be required.
- While we take care during installation, we cannot be held responsible for minor marks or scuffs to internal decorative finishes.
- Internal plastering or decorating may be needed post-installation.
- Our quotes do not include costs for interior finishes or plastering, and we do not currently offer these services.
- If you’d like help sourcing a suitable contractor, we’re happy to recommend one.
Cancellation Rights
You have the right to cancel your contract within 30 days.
If cancellation occurs:
- Before work begins: Payments made will be refunded within 30 days.
- After work has commenced: We reserve the right to charge for reasonable costs incurred up to the cancellation date.
- For bespoke or non-standard orders, we may charge for materials already purchased or manufactured.

Repair or Maintenance Contracts
Cancellation terms do not apply to urgent repairs or maintenance where:
- The service is to be carried out immediately and the customer has agreed to this in writing.
However, if no work has started, the 30-day cancellation period still applies. Goods already purchased may incur a reasonable handling fee. Cancellations must be submitted via email with read receipt or by Recorded Delivery.
Customer Default or Insolvency
In the event of default or insolvency, Yorkshire Roof Windows reserves the right to:
- Demand immediate payment of outstanding balances;
- Suspend any current or future works;
- Cancel any ongoing contracts without liability;
- Invoice for any associated costs or losses incurred.
Payments
- Payment is due on the day of satisfactory completion, unless otherwise agreed.
- Payment terms of 2 to 28 days may be offered upon request.
- Invoices not paid on time may be subject to a 20% late fee, unless agreed in advance.
- For incomplete jobs due to stock delays, 50% payment is required, with the remainder due upon completion.
- We accept payment by bank transfer, BACS, or cash. Cheques and card payments are not accepted.
- Letting agents, landlords, or third-party clients may be required to pay pro forma before site attendance.
- Invoices not paid within 24 hours of completion may incur a 10% surcharge.
Installation & Service
To ensure smooth installation:
- Ensure safe and clear access to the site, including adherence to any COVID-19 safety measures in place.
- Clear the area beneath the window for ladder or scaffold access.
- If the site is not ready upon arrival, additional charges may apply.
- We are not liable for pre-existing issues such as black mould or damaged internal linings.
- A dedicated parking space must be made available. Parking and congestion charges may be added to your invoice if applicable.
Guarantee
We offer a 12-month installation guarantee, subject to the following conditions:
- Full payment has been received.
- No unauthorised repairs or alterations have been made.
- Any faults are reported within one month of discovery. are reported within one month of becoming apparent.
Please note:
- No guarantee applies to windows installed at roof pitches below 15°.
- VELUX® products and components are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
- The guarantee does not cover damage from physical impact or acts of nature.
- We are not responsible for leaks from any part of the roof not included in our scope of work.
The guarantee may be void if:
- Full payment is not received.
- The installation is altered or modified without our approval.
- Defects are not reported within a reasonable time.
- The window has not been serviced by us annually for up to six years.
VELUX® spare parts and accessories may carry separate warranty terms. Labour for warranty-related replacements is at our discretion.
This guarantee does not cover condensation, sound ingress, or air leakage unless clearly specified in the VELUX® product warranty.
General Terms & Transferability
All guarantees are offered in good faith. Evidence of misuse or unauthorised third-party work will void the guarantee.
Any repair work under these circumstances will require pre-payment.
Guarantees for full roof window replacements are transferable to new homeowners. Other services are not transferable unless explicitly agreed.
