What does the Velux installation price quote include?

We aim for our roof window quotes to be transparent as possible. Any quote will include the supply, delivery, and fitting of all new roof windows, or complete roof window repair or replacement. We are always happy to take away any old roof windows and other products, so they can be recycled.

Can roof windows be installed from the inside?

The vast majority of roof windows – around 95 per cent – can be fitted from the inside so there is no need for external scaffolding. All roof windows installations that are fitted from the inside can be completed quickly, in as little as four hours from start to finish.

How much does a new Velux roof window cost to install?

The overall cost of a Velux replacement or new installation will depend on a number of factors, including the style of the window, the size of the window, and the labour costs based on your location. We are always happy to provide a free and no-obligation quotation.

Are Velux roof windows installations possible at any roof pitch?

Yes, they are. Top-hung Velux roof windows are designed to be installed on a roof pitch from 15°-75° and centre-pivot Velux roof windows are designed to be installed on a roof pitch from 15°-90°. This will depend on the flashing and roof materials. There are also options for other roofs and flat roofs available.

Will you visit my site before any installation?

No, we do the majority of our quotes remotely, a photo from the inside, the Velux ID code and the description of which roof covering is on the property is sufficient.

Do I need planning permission to install roof windows?

When you are installing new roof windows, it is important to ensure that you are following any relevant building regulations or laws. In most cases, you will not need planning permission to install a roof window or skylight in your home under permitted development rules. This is subject to certain conditions being met and we are happy to offer guidance and advice.

Do Velux roof windows meet Building Regulations?

The full Velux range meets and exceeds British Regulations, including those for thermal efficiency.

What roof windows glass options are available?

Velux offers a complete range of windows in different materials and styles. Glazing options include double glazing and triple glazing. You can also choose from options such as toughened glass, safety lamination, UV filters, and more.

Does Yorkshire Roof Windows install Velux accessories, like blinds?

Yes, we can supply all types of Velux blinds, shutters, and other accessories. Whether you would like blackout blinds for a roof window in a bedroom or other parts such as telescopic rods to open and close your windows, we can help.

Are your roof windows installers Velux-trained?

Yes, we are a Velux-trained company, which means that all our work undergoes strict assessment and we follow a Velux code of practice. We have the reach and maintain a level of workmanship and service, so you can feel confident that our work is meeting the highest standards.

Can we upgrade our current Velux windows?

Yes. Much of our work is Velux renewals and replacements. As well as replacing parts, we can provide a complete replacement service, offering windows that feature the latest technology, such as electronically-operated windows, that open at the touch of a button and will close when they sense rain.

What guarantees do you offer?

Velux offers a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee on roof windows, including the window, flashing, and glass. There is also a three-year guarantee on blinds and electric windows.

Discussed what was needed and communicated throughout the process up to fitting.  Very fair and transparent pricing too.  The guys did an outstanding job in changing out some very old and very difficult windows.  They worked really hard to get the job completed quickly and efficiently, even when faced with a couple of unexpected problems.  Finished result is first class and they did a great job of cleaning as they went, leaving nothing for me to deal with.  I would absolutely recommend Yorkshire Roof Windows. We were unlucky with the weather in April for the install but Tom kept us updated throughout to make sure our fitting could be done as soon as possible which was really appreciated. They also went above and beyond when we realised the sizing of the window did not quite work at first, just due to the really old age of that being replaced, but it all got sorted on the same day. Can't fault them!
